Community Coping Strategies for COVID-19 in Bangladesh: A Nationwide Cross-Sectional Survey

It is important to know the community coping strategies during rapid uprise of a pandemic, as this helps predict consequences, especially in mental health spectrum. This study aims explore used by Bangladeshi citizens major wave COVID-19 pandemic. Design: Prospective, cross-sectional survey adults living Bangladesh. Methods: Participants were interviewed for socio-demographic data and completed Bengali-translated Brief-COPE Inventory. COPING indicators categorized four ways, such approach, avoidant, humor, religion. Results: (N = 2001), aged 18 86 years, recruited from eight administrative divisions within Bangladesh (mean age 31.85 ± 14.2 years). The male-to-female participant ratio was 53.4% (n 1074) 46.6% 927). Higher scores reported approach styles (29.83 8.9), with lower avoidant (20.83 6.05). Humor at 2.68 1.3, religion 5.64 1.8.
